ACC Needs Help to Make Park Sculpture a Reality
The proposed sculpture for Rockwater Park is a work of art. Big art. As in 10 feet tall and about 6 feet wide.
But before this major work becomes a reality, the Arts & Culture Center must come up with the money to pay for the sculpture. We need your help.
The budget for the project is estimated to be $30,000 to $35,000. The ACC and Windmore Foundation for the Arts have partnered to raise the money. Windmore Foundation has indicated that it will donate $15,000 to the project and the ACC will raise the remainder.
Culpeper artist and Liberty High School art teacher Gary Colson will be carving the sculpture. The local granite (43.4 tons) valued at $10,000 is being generously donated by Virginia Mist and Steven Rousseau. The expected installation will be early 2021.
We encourage everyone to join in this community experience and contribute whatever you feel comfortable giving. Recognition on plaques at the base of the sculpture will acknowledge all donors of $1,000 or more.
Tax deductible checks should be made payable to ACC with “Rockwater sculpture” in the memo line and mailed to P. O. Box 2043, Culpeper, VA 22701-2043. In order to get the project underway, we need to have contributions in hand by October 1, 2019.
The ACC and Windmore thank you in advance for your generosity in helping to make the sculpture a reality in Rockwater Park.
